Tell us the specifics, not the pretty version: that way the AI doesn't have to guess
You'll come away with a description of your business built from verifiable facts, not adjectives, so the website doesn't have to fill in the generic stuff you never told it.

You write three lines about your business, hit create, and out comes something that could belong to anyone. A big headline, three columns each with an icon, a paragraph that says "quality and trust since day one." It's not badly made: it's made with what you gave it.
The AI doesn't guess your business. It fills the gaps you leave with whatever's most likely for that type of business. If you tell it "I have a hair salon" and nothing else, you get the average hair salon from the internet. The question isn't how good the AI is. It's what you need to tell it so it doesn't have to fill in anything.
What it can't make up for you
There are things AI is good at making up: a color palette, where a button sits, the size of the text. Those are craft decisions in design, and it already has good judgment for that.
What it can't invent are the facts of your business: what you charge, who you sell to, what you do differently from the salon down the block. If you don't give it those, it can't write them: either they stay flagged for you to fill in, or the text gets padded with whatever's most common for your industry, which is exactly what fails to set you apart from anyone else.
What to say, and in what order
- 1What you do, with street-level precision
Not "renovations," but "bathroom renovations in apartments under 900 square feet, in your city and the surrounding towns." The narrower the what, the more it shows you know your trade. - 2Who you sell to
Not "all kinds of customers." Say whether it's the neighbor who wants to fix up his mother's bathroom or the landlord who renovates rental units every six months. It changes the entire text of the website. - 3The price range you actually work with
A real range, even if it's approximate: "between $3,000 and $6,000 depending on square footage." Without this, the AI doesn't know if your website should sound like a budget option or a custom service, so it picks for you. - 4What you do differently, as a verifiable fact
Not "quality and trust." Say "fixed quote before we start, no surprises at the end" or "we finish in under two weeks." Something that can be checked, not an opinion about yourself. - 5How you want to sound
Friendly and casual, or formal and professional. With humor or without. If you don't say, you get the neutral brochure tone that doesn't sound like anyone in particular.
The mistake of writing like an ad
A brief that works
Notice what that brief doesn't have: not once does it use the word "quality." It has a price, a baking schedule, a type of customer, and a tone. With that, the AI doesn't need to guess anything, because there's no gap left for it to fill with something generic.
Charging a deposit at booking or letting a bot answer pricing questions on WhatsApp before you step in to close the deal, those come later. This is the step before: without a well-described business, neither the deposit nor the bot have anywhere to pull the right price from.
- You know exactly which five details to write down before describing your business: precisely what you do, who you sell to, your real price range, what you do differently as a provable fact, and the tone you want to sound like
- You'll know why adjectives about yourself ("quality," "professionalism") don't work: the AI can't use them to tell you apart from anyone else, so it fills in with whatever's generic for your industry
- You'll have an example description you can copy and adapt to your own business before you request your website
Yodai builds the site from what you tell it, with a store, bookings or quote requests depending on what you do. See what the website for your business looks like.
