Say what you don't do before anyone has to ask
Leave with your list of limits written out and tested, and with a price, a deadline, or a condition attached to every exception before you say yes.
Someone messages you asking for something you don't do: a Sunday, a delivery outside your area, a discount because they say it's their second time. You say yes so you don't lose the lead, and that afternoon slips away on something you never charged for. Or you say no the wrong way and lose the sale anyway. Every time, you make up the answer on the spot, and every time it comes out different depending on the day you're having.
This course doesn't hand you nice phrases: it has you write, service by service, what you don't do and the exact line that says so before anyone asks. Then you identify the customer who costs you more than they pay, set what each one has to meet before you say yes beyond the price, and decide what condition opens up an exception and what it costs. You finish with the list tested, not just written.
This is for someone who already has customers and struggles to say no without losing them; if nobody's asked you for anything outside your scope yet, this course can wait.
- Write the line that shuts down, with no explanation, the job that isn't yours
- Spot which repeated customer request costs you and rule it out before you accept
- Set, next to each price, the condition beyond money the customer has to meet for a yes
- Put a price, deadline, or condition on every exception, so breaking your own rule never comes free
Have your list of services and prices you already offer on hand.
The 6 lessons
In the order it makes the most sense to read them.
- 1
The job that isn't yours: the sentence that stops it before it even arrives
By the end of this lesson, you'll have written, on your profile, the one line that cuts off the job that's wasted your time the most.
4 min - 2
The customer you're better off losing
By the end, you'll know which customer habit keeps repeating and costing you money, and you'll have the exact line to turn it down before you say yes.
4 min - 3
What you require to say yes, even when you already know the price
By the end, you'll have written, next to the price of each service, the condition other than money the customer has to meet before you book their appointment.
8 min - 4
They break your rule and you want to say yes: use judgment, not your gut
You'll know when an exception to your rule deserves a yes, what condition to set on it, and when that same request, repeated, is telling you the rule needs to change, not be broken.
8 min - 5
What the exception costs
By the end, you'll know what price, deadline, or condition changes every time you accept an exception, so breaking your own rule never comes free.
7 min - 6
The list of limits you wrote a month ago doesn't hold up the same way anymore
You'll walk away knowing which signals from your own business tell you it's time to reopen your list of limits, and what to write in it each time, instead of waiting for a set date.
