Which service actually makes you money (and which one is costing you time)

Knows how to calculate what's really left over per service or product once they subtract time and cost, not just what it bills. By the end, they have a list of their services ranked from most to least profitable, with a decision made for each one: raise the price, push it, or let it go.

You know what sells the most. What you don't know is what actually pays. You bill by service, but you've never subtracted what it costs to deliver it or the hours each client takes up. So you keep filling your schedule with the service people ask for most, not the one that actually works in your favor, and every season you repeat the same pattern without knowing if it's making or losing you money.

This course sits you down with your list of services and makes you run the numbers you've always put off: how much each one brings in, what it actually costs you to deliver, and what you clear per hour of work. Once you've got that sorted, you can decide: which one gets a price bump, which one gets extra hours and promotion this season, and which one you let fade out, knowing exactly what that choice costs you.

Who it's for

This is for anyone who already offers several services or products and bills without knowing which one actually pays off; if you only sell one thing, you don't need this yet.

What you'll walk away with
  • Calculate how much comes in each month per service, not just how many times it sells
  • Subtract the real cost of delivering each service to get your true margin
  • Calculate the dollar-per-hour rate for each service and compare them
  • Rank your service list and decide for each one: raise the price, push it, or drop it
Before you start

It helps to have on hand what you charge for each service and how many hours it takes to deliver.

The 6 lessons

In the order it makes the most sense to read them.

  1. 1

What sells the most isn't what clears the most

By the end, you'll know, for the first time, how much came in this month from each service you offer, not just how many times it sold.

  2. 2

The price isn't what you keep: first subtract what it costs to deliver it

By the end, you'll know how to calculate, service by service, what you actually clear before overhead, and you'll have the real margin for at least three of your own.

  3. 3

The time you put in has to be billed too

With the dollar-per-hour rate for each service in front of you, you'll know which one is truly worth it and which one just takes up space on your schedule.

  4. 4

The list, ranked by what it clears, not by what it sells

By the end, you'll have a table of all your services ranked by what you clear per hour, not by what each one bills, ready to decide who gets a price increase and who you let go.

  5. 5

Which one you can raise the price on without losing the customer

You'll walk away knowing which services on your list have more than enough demand to raise the price, plus a method to test it without touching what your clients already have booked.

  6. 6

The one you push this season, the one you let die

You end up with every service on your list in one of three buckets: price raised, pushed with hours and promotion, or dropped, and you know why it's in the one it's in.
