Your first website, reviewed before you send the link

Make sales with your website checked corner by corner before you send the link, and know what to look at if people come but nobody buys.

8 lessons44 min readBuild your website

Your website is already live, but when you look at it, you don't know if it's really going to sell. You don't know if the text up top says what it needs to say, if the delivery price is missing, if the photos are the right ones, or if the contact button is where it should be. And when you finally send the link and people start showing up, if nobody buys, you don't know whether to look at the website or wait for more visitors.

This course goes through your website corner by corner, in the same order a visitor sees it: first the text and the delivery info with its price, then the order of the sections and the button that follows you everywhere, then the photos. It wraps up with testing on someone else's phone, the day you send out the link, and what to check on the page if you're getting visits and no sales.

Who it's for

This is for anyone who already has a website live and wants to review it before sending the link to their customer list; it's not for anyone who hasn't yet decided what they sell or doesn't have a website to show.

What you'll walk away with
  • Decide, sentence by sentence, what text stays, what gets cut, and what's missing from your website.
  • List the delivery area and its shipping fee, with no gaps.
  • Put your sections in order and repeat the same contact button in every one of them.
  • Choose the three questions to ask whoever tests your website on their phone before you send the link.
Before you start

Have your website already live in front of you, even if it's just the first version.

The 8 lessons

In the order it makes the most sense to read them.

  1. 1

Go over what every corner of your website says

You'll leave here with every sentence of your website decided: what stays, what gets cut, and what was missing.

    7 min
  2. 2

Write down how far you deliver and how much each zone costs, before anyone has to ask

Have it written on your website, with the price and no gaps, exactly how far you deliver and how much it costs to reach each zone.

    6 min
  3. 3

The order that gets people to the price and the button

You'll leave knowing what order your website sections should go in, so visitors reach the price and the button before they leave.

    6 min
  4. 4

The button follows you everywhere, not just at the end

By the end, your contact button will show the same text and lead to the same place in every section of your page, not just in the footer.

    4 min
  5. 5

The photo that opens your website, and the ones that don't belong

You'll leave knowing which photo goes first, which ones need to move, and which ones to delete, with a specific caption for each one that stays.

    4 min
  6. 6

Before you show it off, test it on a phone that isn't yours

You'll know who to ask to open your website without help, and the three questions to ask them afterward to decide what to fix before you send out the real link.

    6 min
  7. 7

The day you send the link

Today the link goes out to your known list, not to the biggest group you've got, and only after you've checked five things with your own eyes.

    5 min
  8. 8

If people show up and nobody buys, check the page

You'll learn to look at the page first, not the number of people, when you're getting visits and no sales.
